Greater Days Ahead

One of the more popular shows that’s on television now is the series “The Walking Dead.” I watched a few shows and was caught in the matrix for a moment but then the show just became too morbid for me so I stopped watching it. However, by the ever growing popularity of the show I may be the only one who has. The show is growing and has a strong following. The following and popularity of the show is so strong that the other day while I was in one convenient store I saw “Walking Dead” action figures! What kid would want to play with zombie action figures? Seeing those grotesque action figures says a lot about our society and what manufacturers think about us as parents/adults. Who would even consider buying that stuff for their kids? It says a lot about the warped mentality that they’re trying to infuse into our children and or that they believe they already have (is it just me?).
But I’m not writing about that or even about the show in general. What really made me think about the “Walking Dead” is that as I look around today I realize that there are so many people who are “Walking Dead.” They’re zombies walking around and not living there life to the fullest. They have let too many of life’s circumstances inflect them with hopelessness and now they’re walking around “dead” with no life, no hope, no joy, no true goals or aspirations. I don’t want to be insensitive to anyone’s plight because for some the struggle is real and I am aware of that. But that’s not the case for all. Yes, I know that life can be rough for some people. Yes, things have been tough economically, emotionally and socially for the past few years and it may be a few more before things are corrected but that doesn't mean that we should ever give up on hope. That doesn't me that we should give up on our dreams and start walking around like were dead already. Live life! Realize that there’s still hope and that there’s still opportunity out there for you to achieve your goals and live your dreams. Live your life and realize that success will never come too late. Enjoy all that life has to offer you and what it has brought to you thus far and realize that there is still more to come.
Don’t be one of the ‘walking dead’ who have become infected with hopelessness. Don't be one of those zombies who have zoned out of reality and are just living day by day walking around aimlessly ravaging off of whatever is out there. Live your life! Realize that there are greater days ahead and that you can still make things happen. Don’t succumb to the cultural norm of numbness and indifference checking out of life and living for whatever happens next. Live life and realize that you can make a difference.
It’s my endeavor to encourage others to rekindle their passion for life. Re-energize them and connect them with others with that same like passion for life, to encourage them to know that regardless of what has happened that they can still enjoy life and that they can still reconnect to the joy of living life on purpose. So don't be one of the ‘walking dead’ especially since you still have life. You have life and not just in the sense of being alive. I mean you still have life because you still have purpose, you still have value and you still have significance. When you realize that you’ll realize that you’re not dead and that you do still have hope and you still have life. So go out and live it!
